Ryedale planning policy

Responsibility for planning in the former Ryedale District area is split between North Yorkshire Council and the North York Moors National Park (NYMNP).

A neighbourhood plan gives a community the power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and influence the way their area develops and grows.

We carried out and commissioned studies as part of developing the Ryedale plan and we are updating those studies as part of the plan review.

As part of the review, the Ryedale local plan will now be incorporated into the the new North Yorkshire Local Plan.
