Playing pitch strategy

The playing pitch strategy (PPS) for Scarborough borough was adopted on Monday 6 September 2021.

The PPS covers the sports of football, cricket, rugby union, rugby league and hockey, and provides an assessment of the quantity, quality, and capacity of all playing pitches in the area. It also sets out a series of recommendations and actions for the development of pitch-based sports, both in terms of addressing deficiencies in the quantity and quality of facilities, whilst also seeking to improve participation.

The PPS has been developed working alongside Sport England, the Football Association, the England and Wales Cricket Board, Rugby Football Union, Rugby Football League, England Hockey and the appointed consultants - belap.

Local sports teams and leagues were also involved in the production of the document having responded to a structured consultation phase.
