Gypsy and Traveller accommodation assessment

The assessment of Gypsy and Traveller accommodation needs is a statutory requirement under section 225 of the Housing Act 2004 that came into force on 6 April 2006.

The requirement for an understanding of traveller needs is reinforced in paragraph 4 of the government's Planning Policy For Traveller Sites, 2012 (PFTS).

Gypsy and Traveller accommodation assessment 2018

The primary objective of this Gypsy and Traveller accommodation assessment (GTAA) is to provide a robust assessment of the current and future need for Gypsy, Traveller and Travelling Showpeople accommodation in Selby. The GTAA provides a credible evidence base which can be used to aid the implementation of Development Plan policies and the provision of new Gypsy and Traveller pitches and Travelling Showpeople plots for the period up to 2033. The outcomes of this study supersede the outcomes of previous GTAAs completed in Selby.

Traveller Needs Assessment 2013

The main objective of this study was to provide us with robust, defensible and up-to-date evidence about the accommodation needs of Gypsies and Travellers and Showmen in Selby during the period until 2028 in five-year sections covering 2013-2018, 2018-2023 and 2023-2028.
