Residents parking permits in Harrogate, Ripon and Knaresborough

Some properties in Ripon and Knaresborough are within an on-street resident zone and there is no alternative parking. These residents may apply for a resident permit that allows them to park in these zones at a reduced price.

Which properties can apply

Residential zone permits are issued to residents and businesses in street controlled parking zones.

You can check our zone list and maps to see if your address qualifies for a permit and if so, how many. Newer developments may not qualify for permits and you can check this on the development list.

How to apply

Apply for a residential zone permit

You can also apply in person at the Civic Centre, Harrogate where one of our customer service advisors can help you with completing the online form.

Proof required

To confirm your residency and vehicle ownership you will need to show us: 

• proof of address, such as a current council tax bill or a valid driving licence
• proof of vehicle ownership or use, such as a vehicle registration document confirming your name, address and vehicle registration or a valid schedule of motor insurance confirming your name, address and vehicle registration

Changing permit details

You can change your details online. We will need proof of residency and vehicle ownership as above.

There is an administration charge of £24 for changing permit details.

Guest permits

If you have a valid residential permit, you can also apply for guest permits.
