Staintondale Parish Council is divided into 2 wards; Staintondale ward and Ravenscar ward. The location of the boundary line separating those 2 wards is under review. An order dated 1950 describes the boundary line between the 2 wards to be in a slightly different position to where it lies now.
The boundary line change has occurred between 1950 and 2007. How, why or when a change may have occurred between those dates has not been identified. Some electors within the parish would like the boundary line returning to the location evidenced in the 1950 order.
This review seeks to review the position of the boundary line between Staintondale ward and Ravenscar ward, by obtaining views and preferences of existing electors and other interested stakeholders in the area. These are described in more detail in the survey questionnaire.
A 12 week stage one public consultation ended in December 2025 for Staintondale Parish Council. It is concluded, that with 2 options being consulted on, and with good support for the above recommendations, this being a minor adjustment to a ward boundary line, with no changes to names or council size, that there is no requirement for a second stage of consultation.
