Background

The Warm Homes Local Grant is funded by the government's Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) to help low-income households in North Yorkshire improve the energy efficiency of their privately owned homes. The aim of the scheme is to improve a property's energy performance certificate (EPC) rating by installing free low-carbon heating, and/or low carbon energy generation installations.

Benefits of the scheme include:

  • reduced energy bills
  • tackling fuel poverty; and
  • reducing carbon emissions in support of our net-zero target
