Who are we?
North Yorkshire Council is a ‘Data Controller’ as defined by Article 4(7) of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). The York and North Yorkshire Growth Hub is part of the York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (henceforth referred to as the ‘LEP’) and is one of 39 growth hubs set up by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to promote growth and improvement services to businesses. The LEP is not a legal entity in itself, so cannot be classed as the ‘data controller’. The accountable body for the LEP is North Yorkshire Council.
What personal information do we collect?
In various places within this website and via our LEP employees (either on the telephone, face-to-face, or via email) we may ask for the following information, including but not limited to:
- name and contact details
- addresses
Why do we collect your personal information and what is our lawful basis for processing?
LEP Growth Hub
Purpose

Lawful basis
Article 6 (1)(a) - The data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes.
Article 6 (1)(e) - Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest.
Who do we share this information with?
In the course of delivering the economic partnership service, we may need share your information with a number of external agencies who are key to delivering our services. These include:
- other councils
- third party organisations – who help us to deliver our workshops and other events
- we may contract external organisations to follow-up with you for research and evaluation purposes only. In order to do this, we will need to share your contact details and business name (any confidential business information that you tell us will not be passed on). Your data may be used to produce evaluation reports for us, so that we can monitor the success of our services. All of the findings will be anonymised and will not be published or referred to in a way which identifies any individual or business. Once the contractual agreement is completed, the external organisation will have to safely dispose of all of your data (for instance, contact information) and they will no longer be able to contact you for any other purposes. It is highly beneficial to us if you take part in these evaluation projects, as it allows us to improve our services. However, you are under no obligation to take part and can choose to opt out

How long do we keep your information for?
LEP Growth Hub

| Personal information | We keep your data while you are an active user (engaging with Growth Hub or opted into emails). If you opt out and request deletion, your data will be removed within one week. If you are inactive for over 12 months, your data will also be deleted. |
| Organisation infomation | The Growth Hub retains this data indefinitely to monitor trends, but only in the form of publicly available information. Any personal or confidential data will be removed as outlined above. |
