Changes to Active North Yorkshire this summer

This summer, we are introducing a number of changes across Active North Yorkshire to create a simpler, clearer and more consistent experience across all sites. These include simplifying our membership options, moving to a new, single booking system and updating the names of our swim sessions and group exercise classes so they are easier to understand when booking.

Swimming is a great all-round activity for everyone. We offer a variety of sessions and lessons in our heated swimming pools to encourage everyone to swim as well as a relaxing sauna and steam room.

General swim Our general swim sessions offer a relaxed environment for all ages and abilities. Swim at your own pace, practice your skills or simply enjoy time in the water with friends and family.
Family swim Designed for all ages offering a safe, welcoming environment where families can enjoy the water together. These sessions are a perfect opportunity to have fun, relax and stay active as a family.
Lane swim Lane swimming sessions offer a calm and structured setting, allowing swimmers of all abilities to enjoy uninterrupted lengths at their own pace. Designed for those aged 12 and over.
Adult learn to swim

Our adult learn to swim sessions provide a friendly and encouraging space for beginners and improvers to gain confidence in the water, learn new skills and progress comfortably.

Learn to swim

Our learn to swim sessions provide a friendly and encouraging space for children aged four and over to gain confidence in the water, learn new skills and progress comfortably.

Pre-school learn to swim

Pre-school lessons offer a safe, fun setting for young children to build confidence, develop early skills and enjoy the water.

Schools swimming

School swimming sessions offer a structured environment for pupils to develop water safety, build confidence and improve their swimming ability.

Inflatable fun session Inflatable sessions bring fun to the pool, offering a safe and exciting environment to climb, slide and enjoy active play in the water.
Fun and floats This is a fun play session for children and adults accompanying children. The session includes large floats, balls and toys in the water to play with.
Accessible swim A relaxed session for people with a disability, hypermobility or long-term health conditions.
Special educational needs family swim Special educational needs family sessions offer a safe, calm and inclusive space for families to relax, build confidence and enjoy the water together.
Mini splash time Pre-school swim with toys sessions offers a fun, safe environment for young children to play, build confidence and enjoy the water.
