Claiming Housing Benefit in the Scarborough area

You should apply for Housing Benefit as soon as you think you need help. Do not delay in making a claim or you may lose out.

Housing Benefit is means tested. We take into account things like:

  • your income (and your partner’s if you have one)
  • savings
  • if anyone else lives with you
  • personal circumstances
  • whether you rent from a private or a social landlord
  • whether you have any empty rooms

If you need help completing your application, please contact us.
