Request a larger bin in the Selby area

This service is delivered differently in each area of the county. This information relates to the former district of Selby. Looking for information in another area of the county? You can change the location here.

Find out how to request a bigger waste bin for big families or due to medical reasons, or for larger recycling bins in the Selby area.

We can provide help and advice on reducing your waste and in certain circumstances we can provide larger bins.

You should contact us to request an extra bin for your recycling.

You can apply for a larger bin for household rubbish if:

  • there are six or more permanent residents at your property
  • you are recycling everything you can using our kerbside recycling scheme
  • your household creates large amounts of non-hazardous medical waste

This may involve a visit from one of our officers who will assess your waste on-site and give you further advice.
