Apply for a pitch at Whitby market

Information about trading at Whitby market including contact details.

Whitby open market takes place on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays (subject to weather conditions) in the Market Place. Regular and casual traders are welcome but preference will be given to regular traders. 

Apply for a market stall

To apply for a pitch, you will need to complete the relevant market trading application form:

Market fees

The fee for a market pitch on Tuesday and Saturday is £17.58
The fee for a market pitch on Sunday is £27.92

What do I need to provide when I apply for a stall?

Before you can start trading, you will need to complete the trader application form and provide: 

  • proof of your public liability insurance (this must provide cover for a minimum of £5 million)
  • two forms of identification confirming name and address, for example, utility bills or bank statements
  • proof of your right to work in the UK 

All traders also need to follow our market regulations.
