Hear from our team

Diane, Relief Catering Assistant

“I really enjoy my role as a Relief Catering Assistant. One of the biggest benefits is flexibility, allowing me to take time off whenever needed, as well as receiving mileage and travel time payments, which are greatly appreciated.

I love the variety that comes with working in different schools, from small and large primary schools to high schools. I also have opportunities to work outside my usual area, which helps me gain new experiences and meet different teams.

This role allows me to learn new skills, develop my experience, and share my own knowledge with others. I enjoy supporting different teams and learning something new wherever I work.

Wherever I go, I am made to feel welcome, and there is always plenty of laughter along the way. I've made some wonderful friends through the role, and I value the relationships I continue to build. Being a Relief Catering Assistant is a rewarding experience, and I genuinely enjoy being part of so many different school communities.”

Our catering service

We have a strong supply chain infrastructure in place to ensure that we can effectively service all of our contracts and guarantee continuity of service in the event of the failure of any single supplier. In addition, we also have a team of mobile and peripatetic cooks providing short-term staffing cover in the event of planned and unplanned absences.

The service complies with the school food standards and accredited by the soil association food for life bronze award. We founded our service on the provision of fresh food and this continues to be at our core today. We promote local and fresh with 75% of our meals being cooked daily on-site, and with ingredients from our three main suppliers located within Yorkshire to reduce our carbon footprint, and promote local businesses.

The understanding of the field to the fork is important to us, and with this in mind, we provide fun and educational cookery classes for pupils and parents as requested by our passionate and talented development and training team who all have years of experience in catering and educational settings.

Our cleaning service

In addition to providing school services, we also have customers from the corporate sector. We achieved ISO 9001 accreditation in July 2021. This quality standard is a globally recognised reward which provides our customers with the confidence that they are working with a supplier who provides a high standard of customer service.

Living and working in North Yorkshire

North Yorkshire really is a stunning, vibrant county with safe communities and excellent education. Over the past two years the new national crime figures have revealed North Yorkshire to be the safest place in England. It is rich in heritage and culture, in a back drop of outstanding natural beauty, vibrant cities, market towns, quaint villages, stunning rural and coast landscapes. We can also boast having three towns in the top ten of the UK Halifax quality of life survey

The county benefits from excellent road and rail links, with easy access via the East Coast mainline, the A1(M) and A19. Leeds, York, Newcastle, Durham and Teesside are all easily commutable, and London just two hours away by train. North Yorkshire borders the Lake District, Lancashire, County Durham, and Yorkshire & Humber regions with all they have to offer.
