Heritage impact assessment

The purpose of the heritage impact assessment is to inform the site allocation process of the Selby district local plan.

The assessment process sets out for each allocation:

  • an identification of the heritage assets affected and their importance
  • assesses the contribution a site provides in its present form to the significance of the identified assets.
  • identifies the impact of a site allocation on the significance of heritage assets
  • considers mitigation measures to prevent harm and maximize enhancement
