Landscape sensitivity study

In 2021, Land Use Consultants were commissioned to update the findings of a landscape sensitivity study carried out in 2018/19.

The purpose of the update is to incorporate additional areas that were not previously covered and to reflect our updated settlement hierarchy. The 2021 work followed the same approach and methodology as used previously. This document is to be used to inform planning decisions and plan making in relation to landscape sensitivity and replaces the 2019 Landscape Sensitivity Study and the 2015 Settlement Setting Landscape Assessment.

Landscape Sensitivity Study - 2019

In September 2019 Landscape Consultants LUC provided an update on the assessment of landscape sensitivity to development for the district of Selby. The study has a focus on the locations which are likely to receive development pressure, these being the settlements in the hierarchy for the Sites and Policies Local Plan, as well as large brownfield locations.
