The Globe is a community managed library working in partnership with North Yorkshire Council.

Library opening hours

  • Monday: 9:30am to 5pm
  • Tuesday: 9:30am to 5pm
  • Wednesday: closed
  • Thursday: 9:30am to 5pm
  • Friday: 9:30am to 4pm
  • Saturday: 9:30am to 1pm
  • Sunday: closed

Finding the library, parking and access

The library is on North Road and forms part of a joint building called Town Close that includes Hambleton District Council offices and an extra care facility. It is a two-minute walk from the high street.

Parking is available for visitors to the building, and there are two disabled parking spaces. Disc parking is in operation in parts of the town centre, and discs are available in many local shops. Additional pay and display parking is available in the town centre at the Showfield car park, which is a short walk away. The library has automatic doors and all areas are accessible to wheelchairs.

Items available from the library

You can borrow a range of books for all ages in a variety of formats, including large print and audio. DVDs and foreign language titles are also available for loan, as well as micro:bits. You can request any item that is not immediately available.
