Find out how we plan, prepare and recover from emergencies in North Yorkshire.

Local Resilience Forums (also known as LRFs) respond to large-scale emergencies when a combined multi-agency coordination results in a more effective and efficient outcome. Any of the partner agencies can activate the Local Resilience Forum when it does not have enough resources themselves to deal with an emergency. 

All Local Resilience Forum partners share responsibility to develop York and North Yorkshire's ability to respond and recover from large-scale emergency situations. Support is provided by lead government departments and agencies, local authorities, emergency services, health, utilities and communication providers, and transport companies.
