What is permitted development?
What do I need to submit with my application?
- if you choose to send a paper version of your planning application, we only need one copy of each document
- for major applications, we may ask for additional copies of plans and documents

How much does it cost?

To make a payment, please contact us between 9am and 4pm to make a telephone payment.
If you prefer to pay in person, or through the post, you can pay in the following ways:
- By debit card over the telephone (applications made online should quote the planning portal reference number allocated during submission)
- By credit card over the telephone (applications made online should quote the planning portal reference number allocated during submission)
- By BACS (Bankers’ Automated Clearing Services) payment, please contact us for the necessary details. Please note when paying by BACS it is important that you clearly reference your payment for planning services
- By cheque made payable to North Yorkshire Council

Fees required for discharge of conditions
There may be conditions attached to your planning permission that means you need our approval for certain stages of your development. If you want us to confirm each time you have complied with a condition, you will need to pay a discharge of conditions fee.
You can ask to discharge conditions by using the form called application for approval of details reserved by condition (pdf / 693 KB).
