Enjoy springtime fun events at our venues across the county

If you’re looking for activities and events during the half term break, there are a host of options available at our venues across North Yorkshire.

Whether you are hoping to sample some arts or cultural activities or get yourself and your family a little fitter, there is a wide range of events available.

New for the half term holiday week are inflatable sessions in our swimming pools in Thirsk and Sowerby, Skipton and Stokesley.

There are also new toddler sessions in Harrogate and much more available across our leisure and wellbeing hubs in the county.

These great value sessions are a brilliant way for children and families to stay active, burn off energy, build confidence in the water and enjoy quality time together over the holidays.

We also have booster classes, stroke clinics and adult swimming lessons to get you ready for summer fun.

There’s also an exciting mix of cultural activities this May half term, as Culture North Yorkshire delivers a vibrant programme packed with history, creativity and outdoor adventure.

From exploring castles to discovering prehistoric fossils, there is something for all ages, making it easy for families to plan enjoyable days out across the county.

In Knaresborough, visitors can uncover hidden history with the Sally Port Tours at Knaresborough Castle, where guided groups descend into the castle’s secret underground tunnel once used for stealthy escapes and surprise attacks.

Alongside this, children can get creative at a free Make & Take workshop, crafting their own split pin horses inspired by the castle’s past.

Meanwhile, families can join the launch of the South Cliff Dino Hunt, following a guided trail to real dinosaur footprints, or take part in fossil-handling sessions with expert geologists at the Rotunda Museum in Scarborough.

A wide range of free, drop-in arts activities, from tile decorating and junk sculpture building to word art and “dress a donkey” crafts, provide plenty of opportunities for imaginative fun.
