Political make up of the council

We are a Conservative controlled council. There are 90 councillors: 

  • Conservative and Independents - 45
  • Liberal Democrats and Liberals - 14
  • Labour - 10
  • Green and independents - 8
  • NY Independents - 7
  • Reform UK - 4
  • unaffiliated - 2

There is an executive in place, with arrangements confirmed at the County Council AGM on 18 May 2022.
