2. Explore the Local Habitat Map for North Yorkshire and York 

Our nature network, the Local Habitat Map, provides a vision for this first step of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy with the ambition to create a comprehensive and connected nature network across North Yorkshire and York. The Local Habitat Map includes two key elements:

• existing core sites - Areas of Particular Importance for Biodiversity (APIBs)
• potential nature recovery areas - Areas that Could Become of Particular Importance for Biodiversity (ACBs)

Local Nature Recovery Strategy GIS data

Data for the three statutory layers of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy Local Habitat Map for North Yorkshire and York is available to download in GIS format (Shp and GeoJson file formats). The three statutory map layers are:

• Areas of Particular Importance for Biodiversity (APIBs)
• Areas that Could Become of Particular Importance for Biodiversity (ACBs)
• Mapped Measures

The GIS data for the three statutory layers can be downloaded from the Data North Yorkshire site.
