Hospice care for adults

Hospices deal with pain and symptom control, as well as palliative and end of life care.

Most hospices also offer some in-patient services to give carers a break. Many hospices have teams of nurses who visit people in their own home and work closely with Macmillan nursing services. All hospices offer counselling for patients, carers and families. Your family doctor or hospital team will be able to provide more details about local services. You can also read the NHS information on hospices and end of life care on the NHS website.
