From the moment you enrol on one of our courses to the day you finish learning, you will have access to supportive staff who are trained to help you plan for your next steps.
Learning options
We understand that sometimes getting to a classroom can be challenging when juggling work and family commitments - that is why we offer a variety of options.
1. In-person
You can choose to study at one of our welcoming classrooms located across North Yorkshire:
- Atmosphere, Pickering
- Campus@Northallerton
- East Thirsk Learning Resource Centre, Thirsk
- Harrogate Civic Centre
- Hawes Community Hub
- Hudson House, Reeth
- Malton Library
- Richmond Library
- Ripon Community House
- Scarborough Town Hall
- Selby North Children's Centre
- Skipton Library
- Whitby Library
2. Online learning
Some of our courses are taught completely online so you can learn from the comfort of your own home.
3. Hybrid learning
Having recently invested in state-of-the art technology, many of our courses are now ‘hybrid’ offering the flexibility to attend courses across the region at times that suit you.
Our OWL Lab cameras allow you to virtually join classes online whilst they are taking place. Interact with your peers and tutor and enjoy a fully immersive classroom experience without having to leave the house.
4. Distance learning
Instead of attending classes, you can study at home at a time that suits you with all teaching, materials and support delivered online. Don't worry, you will be fully supported. You will be provided with a nominated teacher who will be there to support you throughout the process with any questions and queries you may have.
Explore our distance learning courses on our Course Explorer.
How we can support you
We believe nothing should stand in the way of your learning. That is why we offer a wide range of support to help you succeed.
Most of our learners do not pay for their course. This is due to the many funding options we have available.
Additional funding
As well as helping to cover the cost of your course, you may also be eligible for additional funding to support you with:
- course materials
- exam fees; and
- childcare
Laptop loan scheme
Need a device? We can loan you a laptop to use throughout your course.
To discuss what support you need, get in touch or book an appointment with our fantastic Learner engagement team.
