Stonefall Crematorium is in Stonefall Cemetery, Wetherby Road, Harrogate, HG3 1DE.
The crematorium opened its doors on 8 February 1937 as an electric crematorium and conducts over 1,650 cremations per year. The crematorium and chapel are situated in the heart of Stonefall Cemetery on the outskirts of Harrogate. The facilities within the chapel and cemetery are available for cremation services, burial services and memorial services.
Our chapel is fully accessible and can seat just over 100 people.
Our service intervals are 40 minutes which includes 10 minutes prior to the service start time, to allow mourners to enter and get seated in the chapel, a 20 minutes service time and 10 minutes after the end of the service to exit the chapel. It is possible to book a double service at a small surcharge to give the opportunity for a longer service and more privacy.
Services are available Monday to Friday with the first at 9am and the final one at 3:40pm.
We can offer families a unique farewell to their loved ones. We operate the highest quality in music systems and the service can be tailored to the individual through our ability to play any piece of music that has been recorded and released by an artist, as well as all traditional hymns.
There is an organ at the chapel that can be used for a small fee with either one of the pool of organists or a family member to play.
Many different personal tributes are available in the form of photos, slideshows and exclusive tributes to ensure a personal and individual final farewell, some of which are available as a permanent keepsake. These are from our third party media provider.
All services have the option to be screened using a webcast that can also be viewed at a later date. This is to ensure those who live far away or are unable to attend in person have the ability to take part in the service.
The cemetery has a range of parking options within the site, including disabled parking located near to the chapel.
We are on a regular bus route and cycle racks are available within the cemetery grounds. Hookstone and Starbeck train stations are both within a 30 minutes walk.
There are public toilets, including a disabled toilet, located near the chapel.
We offer a wide range of memorial options which are a lovely way to remember a loved one for many years.
