Youth Cabinet

The Youth Cabinet is made up of leading members from all of our youth voice groups across North Yorkshire, forming an executive body to represent all young people.

The Youth Cabinet is made up of leading members of all of our other voice groups, creating a rich and diverse body which represents all of North Yorkshire’s children and young people. The group meets regularly, using a mixture of virtual and in person meetings, and has direct working links with Children and Young Peoples Service leaders – allowing the group to truly have an influence on important issues and decision making. Amongst other things, the Youth Cabinet plans and runs projects and public campaigns on issues which are important to young people, and is regularly consulted by a range of our and partner services when key decisions are being made. The group is also responsible for organising and delivering an annual Youth Awards ceremony to recognise achievement in youth participation – for young people, by young people.
