SEND Information Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS)

SENDIASS is a free confidential and impartial information, advice and support service for parents/carers as well as young people themselves.

SENDIASS North Yorkshire is a service for parents and carers of young people aged 0-25 with SEND as well as young people themselves.

It is a free confidential and impartial information, advice and support service that must be arm’s length to all other services including the Local Authority.

We provide:

  • information, advice and support for children and young person with SEND from early years to post-16, transition planning and education and learning
  • advice and information for you about statutory assessments, including annual reviews
  • support by listening to your views and concerns, will help you to gain confidence and empower you to express your views
  • information to help you explore options, rights and responsibilities
  • help to prepare you for school, mediation and dispute resolution meetings as well as tribunal hearings
  • help with forms, letters and reports
  • help with the completion of appeal forms and understanding of education reports
  • information, advice and support about exclusions and other concerns within education settings
