First protected period
The council was informed of an intention to dispose of The Henry Jenkins Inn on 5 July 2017 and interim and full moratorium periods were initiated / put in place that ended on 4 January 2018. A full moratorium period was triggered by a written request to be treated as a potential bidder by The Henry Jenkins Community Co-op Limited.
After the owner has informed the council of the intention to dispose of a listed property there is an 18 month protected period where the owner is free to sell to whomever they choose and at whatever price. No further moratorium will apply for the remainder of the protected period that remained in place until 4 January 2019.
During this protected period part of the site - called the Eastern part - was sold and this part was removed from the Assets of Community Value listing as a relevant disposal on 13 July 2018.
The site therefore now consisted of:
- the Eastern Part, now removed from the list
- the Western Part that remained on the list
