Exporting food from the Scarborough area

If you have a food business in the Scarborough area and want to sell your produce abroad, you will first need to register your business with us.

Exporting your food products

To move goods from your approved production/processing site to a logistics hub for travel into Europe you will need an EU Health Attestation Certificate.

Apply for a Health Attestation Certificate

The final exporter from the logistics hub will also need an Export Health Certificate (EHC) as well as the Health Attestation Certificate.

New businesses wanting to export

You will need to contact the embassy or consulate of the country you want to export to. They will tell you the information required for a certificate to be issued. You will then need to send this information to RegSupport@northyorks.gov.uk

We will then inspect your business to check the food produced complies with UK legislation. We may make additional checks depending on the wording required on the certificate.

Further information about exporting goods is available on the GOV.UK website.
