Hambleton housing health and safety rating system

Find out about the health and safety rating system and the most common hazards.

The housing health and safety rating system, also known as the rating system, evaluates potential health and safety risks that could be caused by problems or deficiencies in homes.

The underlying principle of the system is that all residential premises should provide a safe and healthy environment for any potential occupier or visitor.

The severity of a defect is rated A to J, with A representing the highest risk of injury or ill health.

There is guidance for landlords and property-related professionals on the Government website.
