Festivals and events

We put on or support a range of festivals and events across North Yorkshire. Find out more about what is happening this year.

Scarborough Sparkle - 28 to 30 November

This three-day event takes place on 28, 29 and 30 November. Scarborough Sparkle is a magical and enchanting Christmas wonderland taking place at the Open Air Theatre. The event is free to attend. There’ll be the annual lantern parade created by local community groups as well as stalls offering crafts, gifts, hot food and drinks. If that isn’t enough there’ll be a tipi bar, where you can listen to music and toast marshmallows, as well as a stage hosted by This is the Coast local radio station, featuring local choirs and competition giveaways. There’ll also be fun fair rides, music, a snow machine, Christmas tree, Santa sleigh and appearances from some famous faces including the Grinch. See full details on the Scarborough Sparkle Facebook page.

Scarborough Fair - throughout the year

The Scarborough Fair is a year-round programme of distinctive arts, heritage and sporting events at venues across the town. See full details on the Scarborough Fair website.
