This seven-acre site of mixed evergreen and deciduous woodland can be found one mile south of Harrogate.
The main species of tree you will find are:
- birch
- ash
- larch
- English oak
- sycamore
- alder
- hawthorn
- rowan
The woodland is between Pannal and Harrogate and adjoins the busy Leeds Road, one of the main routes into town. Many of the recently planted trees are now establishing and forming a green area to the entrance of the site off Leeds Road.
The site runs parallel with Crimple Beck or the River Crimple and offers magnificent views to the east and south.
Access and footpaths
Access is off Leeds Road HG2 8AA via the public right of way. The site is relatively flat but the wood is characteristically wet during winter. Stout footwear is recommended.
