Fairburn Ings

Find information about Fairburn Ings and where to find it.

Fairburn is an ideal place to see wetland birds at close quarters throughout the year. In winter, the large numbers of wildfowl include up to 15 smews. In summer, breeding wading birds include redshanks, snipe and lapwings. Many wading birds visit on migration and in spring black terns usually appear among the terns on migration. Fairburn Ings is easily accessible just off the A1.
