Pannett park

Find out information about Pannett park, its features and facilities.

Pannett park, Whitby museum and Pannett Art Gallery were a gift of Whitby solicitor Robert Pannett (1834 - 1920). He built Pannett park on the site of an old market garden to prevent houses being constructed there and then gave it to the people of Whitby.

Situated close to the centre of Whitby, this park offers a quiet haven with interesting trees and plants, rose gardens, play area and ornamental lily Pond.

The gardens also host a design a flowerbed competition, where children from local schools are given the task of designing and helping plant three summer bedding beds. In late summer the beds are a treat to see.
