This semi-native woodland was once managed for the commercial production of timber. Now part of a National Nature Reserve, Raincliffe Woods is an oasis of flora and fauna.
This woodland is impressive at all times of the year. Spring brings with it a multitude of wild flowers such as Bluebells, Wood Anemones and Wood Sorrel, summer is a great time to venue in the woods for a picnic, autumn produces spectacular colour and winter highlights the magnificent structures of the trees.
A Site of Special Scientific Interest, this area was created during the last ice age and is an important part of Scarborough's geological history.
