Harrogate Town Centre strategy and masterplan

Harrogate, like every other town centre, is facing challenges.

In light of this, we asked planning consultants Peter Brett Associates to prepare a strategy and masterplan with the aim of looking at the town centre's strengths and weaknesses and developing a vision and design for the future which will ensure Harrogate's economic prosperity.

The Harrogate Town Centre strategy and masterplan were adopted by the council as a supplementary planning document in May 2016. It sets out a vision and design to encourage investment and ensure the future economic prosperity of the town. As a supplementary planning document, the strategy is capable of being a material consideration in planning decisions.

Proactive work is now underway to progress the projects identified within the original strategy.
