Business parking permits are available to business properties within Whitby's Controlled Parking Zone.

A business within the disc parking zone in Whitby can apply for one business permit by right.

A permit will allow you to park for an unlimited time in the zone where your business is located.

The permit can be transferred between vehicles.

If you need additional permits, please include a letter with your application form.

Additional permits would only be given to businesses that can demonstrate an operational requirement for those permits.

A permit is not simply to facilitate the journey to and from work.

You need to complete an application and provide a copy of a Self-Assessment Tax form and business invoice or a VAT registered invoice.

Please note if you currently have a tradesman's permit which is valid for use in the Scarborough disc zones then this will also be valid in the Whitby Controlled Parking Zone.

The permit does not have a vehicle registration number assigned to it and can therefore be transferred between vehicles, which are attached to the business.

Tradesman's permits are for use for business purposes only. They are not to be used for personal or residential purposes.

A Trades Permit will allow you to park unrestricted in the three hour zone in Whitby while working at a property. It will also allow you to park in the two and three hour disc zones in Scarborough if you are working at a property within those zones. The Tradesman’s Permit is not valid in the one hour zones, permit holder only zones or in the Pay and Display Street in Whitby or Scarborough.
