Eskside Wharf berthing restrictions

Whitby Harbour Local Notice to Mariners

Harbours, Docks and Piers Clauses Act 1847

Eskside Wharf berthing restrictions

All Mariners are advised that LNtM 2022:04 has been rescinded and is superseded by this notice 2023:01.

Vessels are only permitted to moor within a specifically designated section of Eskside Wharf.

The designated section is a 67 metre length of the wharf commencing from the Southern end.

Vessels must only moor to the bollards provided by Parkol Marine Engineering Ltd and not the wharf mooring bollards.

For the avoidance of doubt, the mooring of vessels on the remaining 54 metre length of wharf is not permitted.

Vessel Masters who are unsure of where they are permitted to moor should contact Whitby LPS or Parkol Marine Engineer prior to proceeding alongside the berth.

Mariners are advised that this measure is in force in the interests of the safety of vessels and personnel following the advice of engineers and shall remain in force until it is rescinded following repairs.

Further advice can be obtained from:

  • Whitby LPS on VHF Channel 11 or 01947 602272
  • Whitby Harbour Office on 01947 602354
