The town boasts a central cobbled square, historic clock tower, and a long-standing market. It is filled with independent shops, places to eat, and businesses, making it a popular destination for visitors.
Alongside villages Carlton Miniott, South Kilvington and Sowerby, Thirsk is in the Vale of Mowbray situated around the Cod Beck river. It is easily accessible by train and just minutes off the A1.
We want to find out what the important investment priorities are for the people and businesses of the town. We are focusing on six themes:
- environment and climate change
- infrastructure
- regeneration and public realm
- business and economy
- tourism, culture and heritage
- community, health and wellbeing
Have your say
To make sure each investment plan reflects local priorities, we are inviting residents, business owners and visitors to share their views on their local area and how you think it could be improved.
