This is an artist’s sketch illustrating how the new street arrangement could look. The aim of this design is to make better use of the space by rearranging the existing furniture. Repositioning the telephone box would allow the bench to be placed where people would be more likely to use it, and would make space for tree planting.
A feature tree such as a monkey puzzle tree would strengthen the character and provide a sense of place while retaining space outside for the cafes.
