The Parish Ward and number of Town Councillors to be elected: Whitby Town Council - Abbey Ward: Two
1. Nomination papers can be obtained from the Returning Officer on the parish by-election page on our website or by calling 0300 131 2131.
2. Nomination papers must be delivered by hand to the Returning Officer at North Yorkshire Council, Town Hall, St Nicholas Street, Scarborough, YO11 2HG on any working day between 10am to 4pm from the date of this notice (excluding bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on Friday 4 July 2025.
3. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 31 July 2025.
4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 15 July 2025. Applications can be made online on the government website.
5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the address below by 5pm on Wednesday 16 July 2025.
6. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 23 July 2025. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate can be made online on the government website.
7. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the address below by 5pm on Wednesday 23 July 2025.
8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the address below by 5pm on Thursday 31 July 2025.
