If your grey wheelie bin has been stolen, or damaged due to normal wear and tear you will need to pay for a replacement. 

A new or replacement grey wheelie bin costs £30 including delivery. 

New or replacement green garden waste or recycling bins are free. 

If your bin was lost in our collection vehicle, we will replace it free of charge. 

When you report a lost bin, you will need to tell us: 

  • your name, address and telephone number 
  • the last time and place you saw your wheeled bin 
  • if your bin had your house number or name on it 
  • whether the bin was damaged before it was lost 

We will investigate and reply within three working days.

New houses and housing developments 

New housing developments with more than three properties should provide all refuse and recycling bins for free. 

You will need to pay for a new bin if you move into a smaller housing development under three properties.
