Council Tax final notices

What you need to do if you receive a final notice for Council Tax.

Final notices are sent if you have failed to bring your account up to date following a reminder notice or second reminder notice. Your Council Tax is now overdue and you need to pay us the full amount for the rest of the financial year to avoid further action.

Unless the whole amount is paid within seven days, a court summons is then issued. Further costs are added to your bill when the summons has been issued.

What you need to do

  • pay the Council Tax you owe
  • contact us if you cannot afford the full payment

A payment arrangement may still be possible. You will need to contact us to see if this is the case.
