We've upgraded our Council Tax, business rates and Housing Benefits systems and added better and improved self-service features for all our customers.
What you need to do if you receive a reminder notice for Council Tax.
If you don’t pay your Council Tax on time we will send you a reminder notice. This will tell you to make a payment within seven days and make future payments on time.
We will send you a second reminder notice if you miss another Council Tax payment.
You will only get a maximum of two reminder notices in a financial year. This runs from April 1 to March 31 of the next year.
If you miss a payment for the third time in a financial year, you will receive a final notice saying you must pay the whole year’s Council Tax.
If you have had a reminder letter from us because you have not paid your council tax bill, you can:
- Pay the Council Tax you owe
- Contact us to discuss managing your instalments
You can spread your payments over 12 months instead of the usual 10 to reduce the amount you are asked to pay on each bill.
