Request sandbags

The flooding and extreme weather section of the government’s website has information and advice to help you prepare for flooding and what you should do during and after a flood. 

You can check for flood and storm warnings and information about river levels on the Environment Agency section of the government website as well as signing up for free flood warnings.

Flood information can also be found on the Yorkshire Water website.

If you have experienced a power cut due to adverse weather, such as flooding, the Northern Powergrid website has information on what to do and what help is available.

The Association of British Insurers website has advice on recovering from floods. 

The Citizens Advice Bureau website has advice which might help prevent you from being scammed by unscrupulous tradespeople who may try to take advantage of flood victims.
