We are continuing to see some impacts across roads in some areas covered by the Met Office amber warning for snow.
Particularly issues continue on higher ground across on some routes around Pickering, Kirby Misperton, Scarborough and Whitby as well as the North York Moors. Please take additional care if you have to travel in those areas.
There are also a small number of very local interruptions to services like waste and recycling collections in certain areas, school closures and our registrars service. Get the latest information:

Interruptions to our services
Bin collections
Due to the current weather conditions, we will be unable to collect all waste and recycling bins in the Scarborough and Whitby areas today. If your bin is not collected please leave it out and we will collect it when we can.
Crews are also currently unable to collect waste and recycling in the Easingwold and Stokesley areas. Again, if your bin is not collected please leave it out and we will collect it when we can.
Libraries
Helmsley Library is closed today due to the snow and is hoping to reopen at 8:30am on Friday. Filey Library is also closed this afternoon.
The mobile library will not be visiting Danby today.
The following libraries will be closing early:
- Whitby Library will close at 3pm
- Scarborough Library will close at 4pm
- Pickering Library will close at 5pm
Register offices
Richmond and Malton register offices are closed, we have contacted all those affected to rearrange appointments.
Please only visit a register office if you have an appointment.
