Hotel and holiday accommodation parking scratchcards

Find out about 1 day, 2 day and 4 day scratchcard parking permits for Scarborough, Whitby and the coast.

This page includes information for owners of hotels, guest houses and other types of holiday accommodation who want to provide parking scratchcards for their guests.

It is the responsibility of the hotel to make sure that they have scratchcards for their guests, if they want to buy them.

The terms and conditions of use are printed on the back of the scratchcards and should be followed. Vehicles seen to be breaking the terms of use could be issued with a penalty charge notice.

You can order scratchcards online or contact us. Please note that as scratchcards are sent out using Royal Mail's Signed for service a fee will be charged for this.

  • only the date of arrival should be scratched off the permit - if the permit will be used over four days (yellow scratchcard) the civil enforcement officer will see it is still valid when the arrival date is scratched off
  • if more than one date is scratched off the permit becomes invalid and the vehicle is liable to being issued with a penalty charge notice
  • the scratchcard must be clearly displayed so that all sections are visible to the civil enforcement officer
  • scratchcards are only valid when used by guests visiting the holiday accommodation - they are not valid for staff parking
  • scratchcards are not valid in any of our off street pay and display car parks, marked disabled bays or loading bays - scratchcards are only valid in the zone indicated on the front of the permit
