We want everyone in North Yorkshire to live long, healthy, independent lives.

To make this happen we will have three big priorities.

Our 3 big priorities

1. Opportunities for everyone, everywhere

This means whoever you are and wherever you live you should be treated the same.

You should be able to get the services you need and live a good life.

2. People’s times and experiences are valued

This means we will try and make sure it is easy to work with us in a way that suits you.

We will also find ways to listen to you and make our services better.

3. My Home, My Community, My Choice

This means being able to live at home where you choose as long as you want to.

It is also about being able to be part of your community.

We have actions for each of these priorities.

You can read the actions in the next section.

2. My time and experiences are valued

5. Respecting people’s time

This means: “I will only need to tell my story once to get the support I need. This will be based on my needs, and not delayed by decisions on how it will be funded”.

6. Listening to peoples’ experiences

This means: “My experiences will be heard and used to help make decisions about the way services are designed and delivered.”

We want to hear your ideas on how we will know if the actions are making a difference.

You can share ideas on one action or on all of them, it’s up to you!

We will turn all the ideas into a checklist. This will be a way for us to know we are doing what you want us to do.

We will also share updates so everyone knows how well we are doing.
