This information is from North Yorkshire Council.
It is about our plans for Health and Adult Services for the next few years until 2025
We want everyone in North Yorkshire to live long, healthy, independent lives.
To make this happen we will have three big priorities.
Our 3 big priorities
1. Opportunities for everyone, everywhere
This means whoever you are and wherever you live you should be treated the same.
You should be able to get the services you need and live a good life.
2. People’s times and experiences are valued
This means we will try and make sure it is easy to work with us in a way that suits you.
We will also find ways to listen to you and make our services better.
3. My Home, My Community, My Choice
This means being able to live at home where you choose as long as you want to.
It is also about being able to be part of your community.
We have actions for each of these priorities.
You can read the actions in the next section.
1. Opportunities for everyone, everywhere
1. Reducing inequality across North Yorkshire
This means: “I will have access to the same services and life opportunities wherever I live or whatever my life circumstances”.
2. Staying well and healthy
This means: “I will have the information and support I need to keep myself as healthy and well as possible.”
3. Protecting the health of North Yorkshire’s residents
This means: “I will live in a community that promotes good health across all ages and have access to information and services to support my own health and wellbeing”
4. Improving mental health and wellbeing
This means: “I will know where to get information, advice and support about mental health and wellbeing when I need it.”
2. My time and experiences are valued
5. Respecting people’s time
This means: “I will only need to tell my story once to get the support I need. This will be based on my needs, and not delayed by decisions on how it will be funded”.
6. Listening to peoples’ experiences
This means: “My experiences will be heard and used to help make decisions about the way services are designed and delivered.”
7. Embracing technology together
This means: “I will be able to interact with the Council in more accessible ways. I will have support to use technology to enhance my quality of life if needed.”
8. A life outside of caring
This means: “As a carer I will feel valued and have a full and more balanced life.”
3. My Home, My Community, My Choice
9. My home, my choice
This means: “I will be supported to live independently in my home of choice as long as possible.”
10. Outstanding Services
This means: “I can access high quality, affordable services within my community.”
11. Strengthening communities to create opportunities
This means: “I will have the opportunity to be an active part of my community where my contribution is recognised.”
Have your say
We think these actions will help people in North Yorkshire have longer, healthier, more independent lives.
We want to do all of these actions as part of our Plan for 2025.
We want to know if these actions are making a difference for people.
We will need your help to know if we are doing a good job.
We want to hear your ideas on how we will know if the actions are making a difference.
You can share ideas on one action or on all of them, it’s up to you!
We will turn all the ideas into a checklist. This will be a way for us to know we are doing what you want us to do.
We will also share updates so everyone knows how well we are doing.
