We propose to fell a tree at 61 Bilton Grove Avenue, Harrogate, due to a subsidence claim.

We are consulting on a proposed tree felling at 61 Bilton Grove Avenue, Harrogate.

Reference: D2CA6001 - Bilton Grove Avenue, Harrogate
Location: 61 Bilton Grove Avenue, Harrogate, HG1 4HQ
What3Words reference: ///nitrogen.outfit.grandest
Tree species: 1 Lime tree

Reason for removal: Subsidence claim from third party

Solutions considered: The reason for tree removal is proven patterns of significant building movement monitored over a two year period. The removal of the Lime tree will reduce water uptake by the tree allowing for recovery of the soil.

Replacement: Replacement planting is not recommended in this location without a root barrier and underground systems to produce a viable rooting zone, which may not be achievable in this setting. Tree planting of three trees elsewhere is therefore being considered.

From the date of this notice there is a period of at least 28 days in which you can provide comments on the proposed tree removal. This notice meets the requirements set out in section 115 of the Environment Act 2021 and section 96A of the Highways Act 1980 on the duty to consult.
